Ending a Chapter...
After two years of blogging, it's time for me to close up shop.
Perhaps some day, in the distant future...I'll start posting again. I wanted to wait until my second year was finished to make this move.
There are several reasons I'm going to stop blogging. First and foremost, I'm boring. When this site was created, I was a Corporal fresh out of the Corps and still looking at civilian life through green-tinted glasses. As the years went by, I find myself completely adapted to this laid-back way of life.
Then my wife started her site a little over a year into my blogging time. Suddenly I'm a member of the Bad Example family. Uh...wow...great! Blogging now became a responsibility for me. To constantly put new material on my site, because more people were now reading it. My passion for writing became a twice weekly exercise in mediocrity. It stopped being fun. Also, as more people were discovering my site, I realized that the previous freedom I had enjoyed of simply posting my feelings were gone. People were studying my words...waiting for any moment to jump on me. Without the freedom to express myself, there was no point in continuing this further.
Thank you dear people for coming to my site to read my words. Perhaps when I've faded from your memory will I return.

hey.. sorry you felt that way.... but maybe you're not as boring as you think... blogging is not rocket science and no one is going to receive a pullitzer prize for their blog. I've seen in my short time here that a great majority of blogging is by lonely attention thrivers who need to feel needed and important. you could come back 5 years from now and not be missing much. :) I'm a poet and usually use the blog to post some wacky crap that happens to me. there are many blogs that are interesting and really funny and fun, but hey, enjoy the fact you have a life (and a wife) bud!!

I wish you the freedom to do as you need. Have you ever considered going incognito?
Total freedom...like attending a mask ball. But if you aren't having fun it's time to go home.
I will miss the blog. It was fun to read. You may feel like just a regular guy but you are always among friends here.
