Squeaky Wheels...
In my recent endeavor to return to my beloved Marine Corps, several things have come to my attention.
First and foremost, it would appear that my body's recovery time has become extended. An injury or pain that would bother me for a couple of days now lasts about a week. No problem...a couple of painkillers and mental discipline should remedy that.
Next, my body seems to be in storage mode. It now takes less food for my body to gain weight. Again, not a problem...put the fork down fatass.
Finally, it's gotten difficult to maintain a sub-seven time after the fourth mile. Hmmm...maybe I should kiss the Marlboro AFTER the friggin run instead of 15 minutes beforehand.
Other than that, I appear to have aged these last seven years gracefully.
The Silent Warrior will return...even if it kills me. Entering the Reserve facility felt like coming home after a long journey...
